Description
The Mk3 Quarryman’s carriage was the Ffestiniog Railway’s third version of their Quarryman’s carriages. The Mk3 was a upgrade on the previous vehicles and included the modern luxuries such as walls, a roof, glazing and doors!
The is available in 4 variants.
Version 1 – “As built condition” representing one of the 18 vehicles built between 1885 and 1887.
Version 2 – “As built condition” representing a vehicle from one of the later batches between 1890 and 1894.
Version 3 – Representing one of the vehicles in the 1930s.
Version 4 – Carriage No8 in as it is preserved today (2022).
The kit can be built to either 32mm gauge or to 45mm gauge. Once built, it cannot be changed, unless it is built to 45mm gauge and the wheels moved along the axles when required.
The kit compromises of laser cut plywood parts, 3D printed detailing parts, stainless steel axles, Binnie wheels and brass bearings. The kit includes all details such as door handles, roof vents and vacuum pipe detail.
